Jacob was born and raised in Lansing, graduating from Grand Ledge High School in 1995. He gave his life to Christ and was baptized in 1992 at a summer basketball camp at Kentucky Christian College. He met the love of his life, Alyssa, in 1997 while she was living in Pennsylvania. They were married in 2005 and now live in Mason with their sons, Liam and Ronin. He earned a degree in computer networks from Lansing Community College in 2010. He currently works as a Development Operations Engineer, but his passion is being a husband and a father.
Jacob began serving in small group and worship ministries in 1996. He also served on a mission trip to Hungary in 2009. He is one of the founding members of Compass Church, serving on the launch team. He joined the elder board in 2021.
