Compass Church – COVID-19 Update

Compass Church – COVID-19 Update

The Coronavirus (COVID-19) has become a worldwide concern and is on everybody’s mind. We want you to know that as a church staff, we are continuing to monitor the situation closely.

So what is our plan? Because we want to balance the health of you and your family -and- to continue to prioritize the daily and weekly cadence of walking with Jesus, our plan is to transition to an online experience for the next three weeks. This decision did not come easy, as our Elders attempted to process the cancellation of major entertainment and sporting events, reports from the media and social media, and the guidance from our governmental leaders.

Compass Church goes Online!

Starting this Saturday, we plan to livestream during the time of our regularly scheduled Worship services.

6:00 PM Saturday nights.

Facebook Livestream

Other Livestreams will be added here as they become available

Worship through Music:  There is nothing quite like the gathered body of Christ singing praises to our Lord. However, you may still do this with your family or loved ones in the comfort of your home. We plan to provide a Worship playlist -or- livestream our Worship Team.

Worship through Preaching: God’s Word, the Bible, is central to all we do. It is the foundation and centerpiece of every worship service. So, we plan to livestream our preaching.

Worship through Connecting: We will all surely miss seeing one another and receiving the blessing of a warm smile, an embrace, or a handshake. However, we encourage you to engage in the comments sections and reach out if you need assistance. We may be online, but we plan to respond to any who have questions or concerns or needs that may be met.

Worship through Giving: We will provide an online giving link so you may give to the Lord as the Holy Spirit directs. And, if you are not an online giver, please mail your gifts to…

Tips for Everyday Life

Our goal is not to panic but to equip you to be prepared. Here are some measures we are taking and encourage you to take as you venture outside of your home…

1. Reminder to wash and sanitize our hands: We ask everyone to be diligent in washing their hands with soap for at least 20 seconds. Also, keep a hand sanitizer with you that has at least 70% alcohol.

2. Changes to how we greet: When it comes to greeting each other, we encourage you to use a wave. We want everyone to avoid the pressure of having to shake hands.

3. Disease prevention. In an attempt to prevent the spread of COVID-19 or any other flu-like illness, anyone with a fever greater than 100.4, cough, runny nose, or sore throat, should stay at home and avoid public spaces.

We will keep you updated should we need to take any additional measures in response to the spread of Coronavirus. Be on the lookout for more information in the weeks to come.

Know this. We can find peace as we look to God’s word.

Luke 12:25-26: “Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?”

John 14:27: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your heart be troubled and do not be afraid.”

God bless and we hope to “see you” this weekend in the comments sections of our online streams!

Yours in Christ,

The Elders of Compass Church
