Happy Juneteenth and Happy Father’s Day!

This is a weekend of celebration! The Compass Church would like to express our excitement in celebrating Juneteenth and Father’s Day!
Our friend and fellow SEND Network Pastor Ken Nether shared these thoughts about Juneteenth…
Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of slaves in the United States. Though the Emancipation Proclamation had been issued in January of 1863, many were still enslaved. On June 19, 1865, Union General Gordon Granger issued General Order 3, which freed any remaining enslaved people.
Do we have a long way to go? Yes.
I am reminded today that the TRUTH does not set you FREE.
But actually KNOWING the TRUTH sets you FREE. (John 8:32)
Let’s continue to fight against injustice and move towards equality.”
And we also wish to honor all dad’s today.
Happy Father’s Day!!!
